Off To That Great Big Carrot In The Sky

At around 7-1/2 years old, Rudy had been showing his age for awhile, but his periodic hind-limb weakness and motor instability didn't stop him from tearing around the house and snuggling up for a good head rub, jumping into the refrigerator in search of more greens whenever I opened the door. His advancing age didn't stop him from doling out hand-kisses generously, and it didn't diminish his gentle, friendly nature. Still, his age and increasing fragility were showing more and more.

So when I came home tonight to find Rudy had passed away, it was a shock but not a surprise. From the way he lay it looked as though he went peacefully. At least I hope so. He was a sweet guy, and he deserved a peaceful ending.

Goodbye, Good Bunny. We'll all miss you.

Yeah; it's the end of an era. He was a good buddy for Martha, Lola and Amie, not to mention me and even Harry. He was a great little dude.
