There Will Be Blood

Saw this tonight with my friend B. Don't know whether I could say I liked it; the score was really good, the imagery was effective, if heavy-handed -- oil and blood and grime and sin and greed and eternal corruption and self-destruction and hellish flames towering over the men who created them and loosed them on the world-- and DD Lewis was incredible, but my psyche feels like it's been kicked in the head a million times. (Not inappropriate, actually, since head injuries figure prominently in this flick.)

Let's just say it's the kind of movie that makes you want to read some William Faulkner afterward to lighten the mood.
