Global warming causing devastating seal mortality rates

Because of global warming, there is almost no ice off the southern Gulf of St. Lawrence, a large seal-breeding area. This will mean a nearly 100 PERCENT mortality rate among newborn seal pups. Still, the Canadian government will go on with the hunt. International dissent is growing, and a resolution is being prepared in Congress calling for the Canadian government to stop the hunt.
