Walkin' In Rhythm

So for Christmas my Very Best Friend SP bought me an iPod Nano. Now on the train, instead of listening to the Bubble Brigade or someone's pointless conversation, I listen to podcasts of This American Life. When I walk in from the Chicago stop, I shuffle my music and dance down the street. My life is transformed; my commute is actually enjoyable!

I love my iPod.

And I love my Very Best Friend.

The ability to listen to "This American Life" on demand is truly a marvelous thing - it's one of the few things that makes my commute work, too - that along with "Wait Wait Don't tell Me" and an assortment of podcasts that do the old time radio horror shows - good stuff -

All praise the IPod!

YES! You must share your podcast choices with me, DP, especially the radio-horror shows.

O Brave New World!

Yeah, I want those too.

The best one I've found is called "The Horror" - the intro is a little hokey, but the content is neat fun - mostly radio shows from the 40s through the 60s, including a couple of great ones with Vincent Price - also like "Pseudopod" and NPRs "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me!" - a great sarcastic game show take on the daily news -

I LOVE "Wait Wait" -- they now do it live here every week, did you know? I've seen it three times. Paula Poundstone has me gasping, she's so funny. It's great to see the unedited show. If you come to Chicago, I could get Tiiiickettttttts....

Vincent Price! LOVE him! OK, I'll check these out, thanks!

If you like 'This American Life', I strongly recommend 'RadioLab' as well. Similar stuff, different methods. A younger show, so not as consistent, but I really like it.

I have heard Radiolab, actually, but not for awhile. I'll check them out again, thanks!

Oh, also, have you ever listened to Joe Frank? He's wild.
