THIS.

Know what happens when you take a job for the paycheck, the steady income and healthcare? Know what happens when you tell yourself you'll give it a year and then move on?

Seven months into your job they give you a promotion and a raise. With a bonus plan that includes stocks.

Seven months on, you realize that all of the people you used to email for help now email YOU. Seven months on, you are tasked with policies and procedures and lists and organization. Seven months on, you are taking paralegals to business lunches to pick their brains and develop cohesive procedural documents. Seven months on, you are drafting a web page and working with construction managers and investment accountants to address cost allocations.

Seven months on, you realize that if you apply yourself and try to learn something every day rather than run from difficulty, you find you are actually very competent, and you trust your own ability.

Seven months on, you still know this won't be forever, but at least you see what you're getting out of it.

You should consider pregnancy.

I do consider it. I consider it completely unappealing.
