Please Help Stop the Seal Hunt

The Canadian seal hunt begins in about one week. Please visit this site to see how you can help put pressure on the Canadian Government and seal hunters to stop this atrocious slaughter.

Many people don't realize that the people who hunt seals this time of year are fisherman during the rest of the year, and that fish makes them more money than the seal hunt. So you can actually put effective pressure on the seal hunt by boycotting Canadian seafood, and restaurants and other non-restaurants (Costco, Wal-Mart), that also carry it. This is the best way to get the hunt to stop, so please check the list, and if you shop at any of these places, you can stop shopping there. Make sure to send a letter explaining that you will no longer shop there until they stop buying Canadian seafood, or until the hunt is stopped. Money is the one thing that talks, and you don't need to eat seafood to have an impact with your consumer dollars.

It's hard for us to picture the Candian government as the target of ethical protest; hell, I spent many happy childhood vacations visiting relatives in Nova Scotia. But this has got to stop.

Not easy boycotting Canadian seafood if you don't eat any seafood to begin with...

If you took the time to read the information on the boycott link, you'll see that other stores that sell items in addition to seafood (Costco, wal-Mart) can be boycotted also.

And since when did you give up seafood again, turncoat? I seem to remember holding back tears watching you dig into tuna at the Signature Room.
